Music

Year 7
Students have worked to develop their performance skills on keyboard, ukulele and guitar throughout the term. Compositions have included sequencing tracks on Soundtrap as well as using traditional music notation while using Noteflight. Classes have shown appreciation of varied musical styles and enjoyed learning about the elements of music through practical activities.
Year 8
Students have immersed in Blues and Rock Music with Blues musical characteristics and Rock Music a focus. Ensemble and individual skills have also been developed. The term has culminated in a performance assessment of riff medleys. Many students have shown much enjoyment in engaging in Music.
Year 9
Traditional Irish Music was the Term 3 Topic for Year 9 Music. Students engaged in performances of Irish Jigs and researched how the elements of music are treated in Irish music forms.
Year 11
Year 11 Music students completed a topic based on Music for Radio, Film, Television and Multimedia with Film Music as a focus. Students completed individual performances and a Viva Voce for their final practical exam. The class is now looking towards choosing pieces to perform for their upcoming HSC next Year, which we all look forward to hearing and will feature vocals, alto saxophone, piano, trombone, guitar and bass guitar.
