10A Vocational Class – Community Project

The Year 10A Vocational students, as part of their Challenge program, organised a Community Project to support an organisation of their choice.

The Year 10s decided to support and fundraise for the Superheroes Foundation, who are committed to easing the financial strain faced by individuals living with brain cancer.

The Year 10 students, along with Ms Williams, set up a system to collect bottles and cans at school and deposited them at the recycling hub, which raised just over $100 dollars for this very worthy cause. Congratulations to the Year 10 students, a great effort!

The following message was sent by the Superheroes Foundation:

‘Dear 10A and the team at Parkdale Secondary College,

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind message and generous initiative to support the Superheroes Foundation through your recycling project. We are so touched by your thoughtfulness and inspired by your commitment to helping children, families, and communities in need.

Your actions truly embody the spirit of real-life superheroes, and we are grateful for your support in raising awareness for our cause. Every bottle and every dollar will go a long way in making a difference for families navigating the impact of brain cancer.’

10A Visit to the South Melbourne Fire Station

On Tuesday 7th October, the Year 10 Vocational class visited the South Melbourne Fire Station, as part of their Challenge class. The students took part in many different activities to test their fitness and experience the workings of a real fire station. A huge thank you to the South Melbourne Fire Station for giving our students this opportunity and also thanks to Ms Williams for organising this experience for the students.

Year 11 VCE Vocational Major Expo Day

On the 28th October, the Year 11 VCE Vocational Major students ran their VCE Vocational Major Student Expo. The students had created displays highlighting the work they had completed over the year in all of their subjects, at their work placement and TAFE experience. The students did a fantastic job at setting up their displays and interacting with the classes and staff who came to look at their work, well done!
