Congratulations Angus

On 13 February 2026, Angus competed in the Victorian Junior Track and Field Championship at Lakeside Stadium in the U16 3000m racewalk event.  

He won the race in a time of 12.29.67, setting a new state record that was last beaten in 2011.

Mason - Victoria at the Indoor Netball National Championships 

Mason was selected and competed representing Victoria at the Indoor Netball National Championships for the 14 & Under Mixed team in Queensland for 10 days mid-February.

He has had heaps of fun playing with his team. The team finished 3rd on the ladder for the 6's comp but lost the semi-final. Meanwhile, in the 7s format, they finished 3rd on the ladder again, this time winning their semi-final to progress to the preliminary final, which they unfortunately lost. 

Student Sport Success Kho-Kho Journey 

The Kho-Kho journey of our talented students, Maira Grewal and Navkirat Brar continues.

After representing at the National Kho-Kho Championship in Sydney last year, they've now been selected for the first round of the Kho-Kho training camp in January. Impressively, they've progressed to the second round of selections for the Australian National Kho-Kho Women's Team, which will compete in the upcoming Commonwealth Kho-Kho Championship. Blackburn High School is extremely proud of their dedication and hard work, and we are confident they'll continue to strive for excellence.  

Year 12 Coping Strategies

We would like to acknowledge the work of our Wellbeing Team, who have created a ‘Coping Strategies’ collage to display in the Year 12 Common Room. 

These strategies were created during the first day of 2026 when students undertook the ‘Study Without Stress’ workshop delivered by the team. 

We look forward to our students using these strategies throughout the year as they pursue their own personal excellence.
