Whole School Assembly – Celebrating Term One

Blackburn High School’s first whole school assembly for 2026 was a wonderful celebration of community and the year ahead. We proudly welcomed our international students and recognised our student leaders, who are already making a positive impact. Students heard exciting updates about robotics, House Performing Arts and the recent Swimming Carnival, highlighting the talent and spirit across the school. We also look forward to the upcoming Freeman House fundraiser—an exciting event that will bring our community together once again.

Student Leadership- Senior Student Leadership Team & House Ambassadors

The 2026 Senior Student Leadership Team have made a very productive start this year and I would like to thank them for their commitment to improving student connectedness at Blackburn High School. The team meets fortnightly and has provided us with insightful reflections about school programs, to develop initiatives aimed at enhancing student experience and have been involved in planning whole-school events.

House Ambassadors are responsible for supporting their house to improve student connectedness, providing student voice, working closely with the House Captains and for leading a range of whole-school programs. The House Ambassadors have made a fantastic start to the year, leading a diverse range of lunchtime activities to support the transition of year 7 students. These have included art marking, drama games and modified sporting games in the gym. Thank you to all House Ambassadors for leading this initiative, we look forward to your involvement with breakfast club, house fundraisers and assemblies across term 2.
