Message from our School Council

Our first School Council meeting of 2026, held on Tuesday 17 February, was a wonderful opportunity to come together, set priorities for 2026 and share key updates with our community. Here are the Top 5 highlights from the meeting capturing the important discussions and decisions from the evening.
OUTSTANDING 2026 SRC LEADERSHIP
Josh and Shakira delivered an exceptionally detailed and inspiring SRC report, outlining thoughtful fundraising initiatives and exciting plans to enhance our school grounds. We are incredibly impressed with their leadership and look forward to supporting the 2026 SRC as they bring these ideas to life.
CELEBRATING 2025 VCE & PATHWAY SUCCESS
While our 2025 VCE results have already been widely celebrated, School Council was pleased to hear about the many additional successes. Our Year 12 students have been successful in securing pathways for 2026 that are important to them including employment, further training and / or enrolment in various courses at a number of tertiary institutions. Council also heard heartfelt appreciation from parents recognising Lesley McKay’s (Careers Leader) unwavering dedication in ensuring students felt supported in achieving the pathway important to them.
CAPITAL WORKS MILESTONE - LOCK UP STAGE
We are nearing lock up - an exciting milestone in our Capital Works project! It is fantastic to see the build progressing so smoothly. A special thank you to the Builders for warmly welcoming a number of our VET Building and Construction students onsite, and generously sharing their expertise and walking them through the stages of such a significant project. What an invaluable, real-world learning opportunity for our students.
CAMPS, EXCURSIONS & HIGH ADVENTURE OPPORTUNITIES
Have your Compass notifications been lighting up? From camps and snorkelling to hiking, surfing and other high-adventure experiences, the opportunities for our students are extensive. Our subcommittee meticulously reviews every detail to ensure all documentation meets the highest safety and compliance standards before coming to School Council for approval. At this meeting, we efficiently finalised approvals for many activities for our students during Term One.
THANK YOU, WAYNE AND JODIE
We farewelled two longstanding and deeply committed School Council members, Wayne and Jodie, whose children graduated Year 12 in 2025, marking the end of their time on Council. We sincerely thank them for the many years of dedication, thoughtful contribution and volunteer service they have given to our school community. Their impact has been significant and greatly appreciated.
