Fairfield PS Ski Team Update

Did you know that FPS had a ski team entered into the Victorian Interschools Snowsports Championships?

On 18 August, Felix G (Grade 5) and Leo and Freddie M (Foundation) represented Fairfield Primary School at the Victorian Interschools Snowsports Championships at Mt Buller.

Competing in beautiful sunny conditions in the Ski Cross, Felix came in 42nd out of 200 entrants from Years 5 and 6 in an incredibly competitive field. Felix just missed out on qualifying for the finals, which is even more impressive given that he was competing against Grade 6 students. Felix will remain in the same division next year and we can't wait to see him back on the course in the top of his division. Well done Felix!

Leo and Freddie had a great time in the Division 6 Alpine racing against Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students from across Victoria. Coming in at just one tenth of a second apart over two runs was pretty freaky twin stuff! They felt very proud of themselves for 'going fast'.

The opening ceremony, complete with a parade of over 200 schools and an epic fireworks display was a special way to end our time at the event.

If you would like to know more about the Interschools in 2026, please contact Casey at caseyamymurphy@gmail.com. We had three students representing FPS in 2025... how many will join the action for 2026!
