Book Week

Book Week this year was a wonderful festival of literature full to the brim with exciting events. We had writing workshops, a visit from Charlotte the Roving Poet, poetry readings from our Year 7s, awards for the best picture books made by Year 8s, a Book Tasting in the library to get a first taste of books destined for the library shelves, and of course the spectacular costume parade on the final day of the week. Our Year 9s also had the chance to have their writing recognised in the inaugural Lonsdale Campus Writing Competition. Through our week-long Book Sale and other donations, we also managed to raise $200 for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Thanks to everyone for getting involved! Book Week wouldn’t be possible without all the amazing readers and writers we have at UHS.
