Year 8 Picture Book Competition

During Book Week, we celebrated the terrific work of the Year 8 picture book finalists at a morning tea. Congratulations to all our students for devising creative, thoughtful and unique texts.

Mila Bradley 8C2 for her coming of age story and the effective combination of text and imagery.

James Krabaelski 8G3 for his beautiful illustrations and lovely story of friendship and longing.

 

3rd Place - Hello? Is anybody there…

Mackenzie Weary 8G2 for a moving story of grief and empathy. Clever design approach throughout. 

 

2nd Place - Photosynthesis

Amy Chen 8J1 for a poetic and timely reflection of contemporary society (and for providing some hope right at the end) 

 

2nd Place - The Bread Tree

Lily Ariana 8C3 for her compelling and moving story that combines imagination, effective plot development and hope despite the devastation she explores.

 

1st Place - Tell me of the world

Louis Krabelski 8G1 for his beautiful creation that is insightful, moving and wise.
