Ruby Longmuir- Beach Volleyball U18 World Championships
Year 11 Student Ruby Longmuir (Ridgeway Campus) recently returned from Doha Qatar, where she competed in the Beach Volleyball U18 World Championships.
At just 15, Ruby and her partner Ella help their own against older, more experienced competitors – an incredible achievement at such a young age.

Sophie Richardson- FIBA U16 Women’s Asia Cup
Year 12 student Sophie Richardson (Ridgeway Campus) and her team, the Sapphires, claimed their fourth consecutive title at the FIBA U16 Women’s Asia Cup, continuing their dominant streak. Go Sophie!

Bentley Crisp – 2025 Triathlon Age group World Championships
Congratulations to Year 12 Student Bentley Crisp (Ridgeway Campus) on an outstanding performance over the weekend at the 2025 Triathlon Age Group World Championships in Wollongong.
Bentley placed 20th in the world in the Individual 16-19 age group and ninth in the Mixed 16-19 Relay. What a remarkable result at the world level!

Year 10 Future Problem Solving Team, Magic Members (2025)
Shoutout to the now Year 11 Future Problem Solving Team and Magic Members who are going to compete at the National Future Problem Solving in Sydney on October 17-19th. We wish you the best of luck, Michael Reeves, Jai Sharma, Hugo Lethbridge-Ford, James Short, Maddie Lim and Tilda Jukes!

Chess Players of 2025
Shoutout to our Chess players, Tedric Li, Young Zhang, Shayden Renwick, Henry Werts, Daniel Zhang, and Bohan Yang, who competed brilliantly at the Northern Star State Final Chess Championships today. Tedric won equal 1st place in Year 9 and 10 and Young won 3rd place in Year 11 and 12. There were over 460 chess players there from all over the state. Best of luck to Heidi McMillan, in Year 7, who is competing at the Secondary Girls Northern Star State Final on October 17!
Great news from Heidi McMillan, in Year 7, who was a state finalist in the Secondary Girls Northern Star Chess State Finals.
Heidi won 5 of her 7 games, placing her equal 4th in the state and earning her a silver medal as she came 2nd in her age group.
There were 58 girls competing in total and Heidi competed with grace and conviction. Well done, Heidi!

Buckley House Student Shoutouts
Kimi Ye, Year 6, Buckley House
In 2025, Students have been always trying their best and showing civil character, moral character and performance character. Here are some students who have shown outstanding character in various subjects and classes.
First off, we have Sanoak Thenuwara from 6N who always going above and beyond and always challenging himself to learn more; he always helps out his peers both within the classroom and outside.
Another student who has had an incredible semester is Addis Gibbins from 5A. Her determination to always do her best shines through in everything she does. Not only is she committed to her own learning, but Addie also uplifts those around her, offering support, encouragement, and guidance to her peers. A true role model in the classroom, Addie leads by example and inspires others to reach their potential.
In specialist classes, we also have many outstanding students always trying there best
In STEM, Chiara in 4B who has demonstrated outstanding civic, moral, and performance character throughout this STEM term. She consistently helps others, applies herself with determination, and shows respect for the school environment. Her leadership is evident in the way she models the traits of a young person of character. Showcasing her abilities to apply to classroom content in meaningful ways communicates her understanding with clarity and creativity. Chiara leads by example and continues to inspire her peers through her thoughtful contributions and strong character.
In art, Lucas P has really stood out in this semester. He is consistently giving his best and showing outstanding civic character in Art! His positive attitude, teamwork, and dedication shine in every project, an inspiring example of creativity and kindness in action. Keep up the amazing work!
With these incredible achievements this year, it’s only up to imagination what Buckley house shall achieve in 2026.
