Ella Bryden, Year 12, Ridgeway Campus

The Ivanhoe Grammar School Cadet Unit is one of the greatest leaderships experiences our school offers. It is a unique program that builds confidence, teamwork, and leadership through hands-on challenges and unforgettable camps.  

Leading the unit are the Big Four — We are a dedicated team of students responsible for planning the cadet year and its activities, ensuring every cadet has a memorable experience. 

Senior CUO – Leads the entire cadet unit, setting the standard for leadership, works closely with staff and CUOs to ensure everything runs smoothly across the unit.

• Kate Hopper (Plenty Campus)

  Fun Fact:  I am a triplet 

RSM – Maintains discipline, dress, and drill throughout the unit. Supports CUOs and NCOs, ensuring everyone upholds high standards of presentation and behaviour. 

• Will Doman (Plenty Campus)

  Fun Fact: If I was born a girl, my name would have been Grace 

• Marcus Ryan (Ridgeway Campus) 

  Fun Fact: My sister was the Senior CUO in 2023 

XO – Second-in-command of the unit. Oversees logistics, operations, and planning for all major events and camps.  

• Lucy Fiddes (Ridgeway Campus) 

  Fun Fact: In primary school I used to convince little kids that I was Elsa 

• Maya Hopper (Plenty Campus)

  Fun Fact: I am a triplet. 

HOTNA – Oversees training and assessment for the unit, ensuring cadets develop the skills and knowledge they need to progress.
