2026 Prefect Advice

As the new 2026 Prefects begin their journey as leaders of Ivanhoe Grammar School, here is some advice from them to younger students! To the new Year 7s coming into High School, good luck, and have a read of some wise words from your leaders.
Wise Wisdom From Your Prefects
Daniel Hodgson: Make the most of all your opportunities at school and get involved with different groups of people as it is amazing to be friends with everyone. It will make your time at Ivanhoe Grammar School more enjoyable, and you’ll meet some great people.
Harry Sze: Don’t be afraid to be yourself.
Will Hopper: Sign up for everything – there’s no such thing as bad experience
Jahnavi Srikantha: Ask for help - talk to your teachers.
Max Bergamin: Get into good habits now as it is very hard later in your high school life!
Liz Tan: Don’t give up on Mathematics, if you get the basics now, it will help you as you progress through high school.
Advice to our Upcoming Year 7s
Tilly Metzner: Choose the smallest instrument for music!
Samantha Garbutt: Don’t eat inside the Middle Years building unless you want a strike!
Andy Wang: Do as many co-curriculars to get as many awards as possible on your blazer.
Alice Waite: Meet as many new friends as possible, don't just stick to who you know!
Charlotte Starkey: Don’t be nervous to make mistakes or embarrass yourself. Putting yourself out there is how you will grow.
Archie Barker: Do your best and have fun – Year 7 and 8 is all about making new friends, learning what it’s like to be independent, and enjoying yourself, so no pressure.
Tiffany Moutsos: As long as you know where the canteen is, you will have plenty of time to figure out the rest.
