Fire Ed incursion

The Prep students had a wonderful time during the Fire Ed incursions on Monday 11 May and Wednesday 20 May. We learnt lots about fire safety, including what to do in an emergency, what number to call (000) and how firefighters help to keep our community safe.

The highlight of the day was getting to climb inside the fire truck and see all of the different tools up close. Students also had the exciting opportunity to spray the water hose themselves. It was such a fun, engaging and hands-on experience.

We asked some of the students to reflect on this visit and they said:

Pranita:  “The water hose was funny and I liked it.”

Mary:  “I liked taking the photo with the firefighters”

Ryan R:  “Putting out fires is a good idea, and you should be safe around fires”

Ollie:  “We learnt about safety and making sure we have a parent to watch us around fires”

Zion:  “Using the fire hose was so fun!”

Archer:  “I liked spraying the hose”

Jiya:  “I liked sitting inside the truck”
