Bike Safety
BIKE SAFETY
At assembly last week, Hunter, Maggie, Mollie and Grace from 4LL spoke to everyone about Bike Safety. It is fabulous that so many students ride, skate or scoot to school, and here are some reminders to keep everyone as safe as possible.
WEAR A HELMET
It is law in Victoria that all cyclists wear a well-fitted helmet that complies with the AS/NZS 2063 safety standards. The law applies on all roads, bicycle paths, footpaths, shared paths, as well as other public spaces such as recreational parks and car parks. We kindly ask that all students wear a well-fitting helmet when riding to and from school.

WALK YOUR BIKE IN THE SCHOOL GROUNDS
Students and visitors are required to walk their bike, skateboard or scooter through the school grounds. We are a busy school, particularly before and after school, and to keep everyone safe, walking the bike is the best option.
PAGE STREET IS A ROAD
It can sometimes be easy to forget that Page Street is a road that gets very busy during pick up and drop off time. We often see students riding their bikes on this road, unaware of the cars moving and reversing around them. If your child rides to school, it would be worth discussing potential safety hazards with them and how best to stay safe.
Thank you and stay safe on your bike, scooter or skateboard!
