Term 2 Sports Report
Term 2 has been a busy and exciting one for our school’s sporting teams, with the Region Cross Country and year 7 and 8 round robin days being the highlights.
Eastern Region Cross Country – 12th June
A team of 18 dedicated runners represented our school at the Eastern Region Cross Country, held at Yarra Glen Racecourse. The weather was perfect for running with no wind or clouds and a comfortable running temperature of 14 degrees. While none of our runners progressed to the State level (top 12), we are incredibly proud of the many personal bests achieved and the strong effort from every competitor. The spirit and resilience displayed by our athletes truly reflected our school values – well done to all involved!
Year 8 Girls Netball Success
A huge congratulations to our Year 8 girls netball team, who triumphed at their Division Competition! Facing our division rival schools - Glen Waverley, Vermont and Mount Waverley in a round-robin format, the girls played with skill, determination and fantastic teamwork to win all their matches and secure their place at the upcoming Region competition. We wish them the very best of luck as they take the court at the Waverley Netball Centre on Wednesday 6th August.
Thanks to all our student coaches and teachers in charge for leading our teams. In term 3 students have the opportunity to play the sports of Basketball, Table Tennis and Hockey.
Upcoming: House Athletics Carnival - Thursday 31st July
We are a looking forward to our House Athletics Carnival, on Thursday 31st of July at Bill Sewart Athletics Track. Once again, we are asking all students to meet at the Venue. No transport will be available from school. REMINDER to all students to bring their Compass display/Sussi ID code. It is a 7-digit code on their Compass page under their name (eg. PTA1234). Students will need to use this code when competing in events on the day. There are no pre-signups, students can simply turn up to whatever events they want on the day.
We look forward to more sporting success and participation in Term 3!
