Interact Conference
On Monday the 2nd of September, I along with a group of passionate interactors from MGC had the opportunity to attend the 2024 Rotary Multi District conference held at Camberwell Grammer School. The conference is an opportunity for secondary school members of the Rotary (interactors) to meet with like minded peers, share what the Melbourne Girls' College interact club has been doing in the community and hear from inspiring speakers.
My highlight of the day was hearing from an incredible PhD student and Rotary member about leadership and her own journey with mental health; she taught me to embrace failure and when to say no, something I think we all need to learn to do. Our club president, Emily Carroll, did an amazing job sharing to a room full of fellow interact clubs and rotary members about MGC's rotary markets and our club's highly successful Valentine's Day event.
Another highlight from the day was the fact that the conference was organised by none other than two MGC students, Shreya Nair and Leanne Leong. It was evident that their hard work planning the day payed off. The MGC interact club had incredible day of fun and great food and I'm sure we all learned a great deal about being young leaders and putting "service above self".
The Interact Club is always looking for new members so please come and join us in room 105 on Friday Lunchtimes. All welcome.
