Assistant Principals' Report
Rachel Robertson - Years 7 & 8
Earlier this term, Year 7 students attended The Islamic Museum of Australia to explore Australian history through the experiences of Muslim migrants. I am always impressed to see how many students across Years 7 and 8 participate in inter-school sport. This Friday alone we have students participating in Year 8 Badminton for the State Finals as well as Year 7 Division Basketball, Table Tennis and Hockey.
We are in the process of finalising Language preferences for Year 8 for 2025. Year 7 students will receive an email next week letting them know which language they will be enrolled in for 2025.
We look forward to seeing students and their families either online (12-4:12pm) or face-to-face (5-7pm) in the upcoming Parent Student Teacher Conferences on Tuesday.
As we approach the end of another busy term, I would like to wish everyone a restful holiday and hope that you are able to spend some time doing the things you enjoy with the people who matter most to you.
Katherine Warriner - Years 9 & 10
On Monday 2nd September I had the privilege of attending the Rotary Club Richmond Inaugural Education Excellence Awards where three of our staff were recognised for their excellent work, alongside staff from Collingwood College and Richmond High School.

Congratulations to these three staff members.
The Year 9s have attended City Experience this week and have had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the city, learn more about Melbourne and attend a variety of activities including a Radio Basics Course at SYNFM, meeting with the Big Issue staff and learn about the impact of homelessness through an Intersection City Walk. They also visited the Melbourne Museum, Eureka Skydeck, ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) and participated in a city Scavenger Hunt and Graffiti Art Tour.
Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences will be held on Tuesday 17th September, from 12pm to 7pm and Term 3 will end at 2.30pm on Friday 20th September. We wish all our families a safe and restful break.
Kate Nicholls - Years 11 & 12
The last few weeks have been a busy period for the senior students in the VCE centre with final Unit 3/4 SACs and SATs due, Unit 2 assessments and examination preparation sessions. We celebrated R U OK day with a range of pay it forward kindness cards, self-affirmation cards, mindfulness colouring to break up study and R U OK cookies being the biggest hit!
Year 12s used their most recent wellbeing session to plan their holidays for practice examination times in the holidays in school and prepare for study leading into the VCAA examination period and year 11s spent half the session planning their holiday revision and half for a whole cohort assembly.
The year 11s are excitedly planning for their entry into Year 12, starting the jumper process, it was great to see student led initiatives in the assembly for this to occur, we celebrated the Year 11s involved in the model UN at the end of Term 2 and looked ahead for Term 4 excitement.
Year 12s are excitedly organising their Valedictory tables and Senior Exec are organising the themed dress up days and various in school activities with the cohort to celebrate the last term.
