Principal Report

Over the past five weeks, our school community has enjoyed a productive period marked by memorable experiences and strong student engagement.

One of the highlights was our Soloist Night, which showcased the incredible musical talent within our school. Students demonstrated confidence and dedication as they performed to a supportive audience, making it a special evening for all involved.

Our Year 12 students also celebrated a significant milestone with their Formal. It was a wonderful occasion that brought students together to celebrate their final year in style. Our Year 11 Outdoor Education students attended a camp at Wilsons Promontory, which provided valuable opportunities for teamwork, resilience, and personal growth. Students are to be congratulated on their participation.

Academically, we are pleased to report a calm and highly productive NAPLAN period for our Year 7 and 9 students. Students approached the assessments with maturity and focus, and we commend them for their positive attitude and effort.

In the latter part of the term, the school implemented an effective blitz on lateness. This initiative has seen a noticeable improvement in students arriving at class on time, helping to maximise learning opportunities and establish positive habits.

We ended the term on an extremely positive note with our Open Night, which was well attended by our prospective families. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a great evening.

Progress Reports

Student progress reports have been made available to families this week. These reports provide a snapshot of students' progress in each subject. Parent-Teacher Interviews are on May 11th, with more information about this published to parents/carers early next term.

SWPB award

Recently, we received notification from the Department of Education that we have successfully achieved the Bronze level of acknowledgement for our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) implementation. This award recognises the efforts of all staff and students from Koo Wee Rup Secondary College in creating a safe and orderly learning environment aligned to our values of Connection, Respect and Growth.
