Year 8 Report

Student Representative Council Announcement

The Year 8 cohort has had a fantastic start to the year, demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience, and a strong commitment to their learning. It has been wonderful to see students settling into routines, building positive relationships, and engaging so actively across all areas of school life. Their efforts both inside and outside the classroom have set a positive tone for the year ahead.

We are also pleased to announce our Year 8 student leaders for 2026. Congratulations to the following students who have been appointed to leadership roles:

  • Year 8 Cohort Leaders: Tyler Gauci and Lase De Hey
  • Sustainability Leader: Rylan De Heer
  • Performing Arts Leader: Oviyaa Kesavan
  • Sports Leaders: Zac Laing and Oakey Michie

These students have already begun to demonstrate great leadership qualities, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on the cohort and wider school community.

As we wrap up a very successful Term 1, we would like to acknowledge the efforts of all Year 8 students in contributing to such a positive and productive term. We are excited to build on this momentum and look forward to an equally rewarding Term 2.

Year 8 Camp Information - Camp Rumbug

When: 6th - 8th May, 2026

The 2026 Year 8 Camp will be held at PGL Camp Rumbug. This camp is a great opportunity for students to spend time together in a supportive, inclusive environment, strengthening existing friendships and building new connections with peers.

Camps play an important role in helping students develop positive social skills. Through shared experiences, group challenges, and time spent together outside the classroom, students learn more about teamwork, communication, and how to build respectful relationships with others. It also provides students with a valuable opportunity to interact with their teachers in a more relaxed setting, further strengthening positive student–teacher relationships.

The camp program is designed to foster teamwork, respect, resilience, and leadership skills through a range of engaging activities.
