Procedural Text Project

Over the last 2 weeks, students in Unit 3 VM literacy have been learning the proper way to construct a procedural text, looking at high quality examples to inform their choices. 

To put their skills to the test, the students completed a mini project series entitled "Go Teach, Girl'. Here, they selected a skill and used a procedural text and public speaking skills to teach the rest of the class their skill. 

What resulted were energetic lessons filled with passion and drive, plus the opportunity to demonstrate literacy skills in a practical way. The students covered skills such as cooking the perfect steak, banana pancakes, breakfast burritos, AusLan, the perfect footy kick and more. It was an honour to see the VM students step up to the challenge, push themselves out of their comfort zones and take on a leadership role.
