Year 7 Transition

First Term of Secondary School Complete!
Our Year 7 Cohort have made it through their first term of Secondary School learning so many new skills and having lots of new experiences.
The year started with a wonderful Transition Program where the students built connections and skills like how to read a timetable, opening a combination lock and navigating their way around the School. They learn what resources they needed for classes and how to be Ready To Learn, a key focus we have. Many students tried and elected to enrol in our Instrumental Music program.
As the term progressed, the Year 7’s went to Camp at Campaspe Downs where they were pushed out of their comfort zone to try new tasks, build stronger connections outside of their homegroup and see their Teachers outside of the classroom.
We saw many students master canoeing, some fly high on the flying fox and many face their fears of heights by conquering the leap of faith. We saw many students come away from camp happy and very exited to tackle whatever came their way for the rest of term.
Our Year 7s have kept up the busy schedule by being involved in Family Night, Bike Ed, Water Safety programs, NAPLAN, many assemblies, Swimming Carnival and their first experience of Academic Review Conferences. They have absolutely thrived in every situation they have been in.
We are very excited to see what they can achieve as the year goes on. Next term is going to be just as big with some very exciting programs in the works.
