Visual Arts

The Foundation students listened to the story, Pig the Pug.
Using paint sticks, students added stripes, colours or spots to their Trevor the sausage dog template. We cut out the middle of the template and then practised a concertina fold for Trevor's body, and then assembled his body, adding a sticker for the eye. We made lots of connections with students who owned a sausage dog or knew someone with a sausage dog!
In Grade 6, students have been applying their watercolour skills to create a mountainous landscape in the style of American artist Jen Aranyi.
In Grade 5 students have dusted off their weaving and stitching skills to complete their woven llama blanket works. Cute!
Grade 3 have spent several weeks creating a background using tissue papers, paint sticks, stickers and paint pens. They are beginning to complete their fabulous flamingos and add these to the colourful backgrounds.
Grade 2 completed their focus on the Sunflower series by Vincent Van Gogh.
