Grade 2 News

Students have been busy across a range of learning areas. 

Writing: Students have begun researching and writing information reports about sea turtles. They are learning how to organise facts into clear sections and use appropriate headings to present information. 

Mathematics: In Maths, we are exploring 2D and 3D shapes. Students are identifying the features of different shapes and investigating where they can be found in the world around us. 

Health: Our Health lessons are focusing on how to take care of our bodies. Students are discussing healthy habits, including nutrition, exercise, hygiene, sleep, and ways to maintain their overall wellbeing. 

Religion: In Religion, we are learning about grief and loss. Students are exploring different emotions people may experience during times of loss and discussing ways to show care, compassion, and support for others. 

Home Reading: Please continue to support your child's home reading each night. Regular reading practice is one of the most important ways to build fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and confidence. Even 10–15 minutes of reading each evening can make a significant difference to your child's learning progress.
