Year 10 Celebration Day!

What a fantastic way to wrap up the 2025 school year!

Our Year 10 Celebration Day was filled with joy, gratitude, and plenty of moments that reminded us of just how much this cohort has grown over the past twelve months.

We began with a special Year 10 Assembly, starting with Mrs Dempsey delivering a message to the cohort. The assembly featured a photo slideshow and videos that highlighted the many memorable events, challenges, and achievements of the year and a flashback to Year 8! Our Student Representative Council, Aelwyn, spoke with confidence and maturity, reflecting on the cohort’s journey and the strength of our year level community. A special mention to Josh H for being on the SRC council who was absent. Every Year 10 student was recognised with a Certificate of Congratulations, celebrating their effort, resilience, and contribution to MECS and we farewelled students leaving MECS with a card and prayer.

Another highlight of the assembly was the announcement from Pingpongathon staff member Matt Maudlin, who shared about the Pingpongathon, our fundraiser for the year where a fantastic (just under) $7000 was raised for an important cause!! We were also treated to the surprise of our Year 8 lip-sync videos, which was met with fun and laughter!! The Faith Leadership Team shared the impact of their lunchtime spiritual growth sessions throughout the year, and I had the privilege of offering a final congratulatory message to the cohort.

Following the assembly, we headed to Bounce for an afternoon of trampolining fun—complete with fun, challenges, and well-earned energy bursts. We concluded our day at Lillydale Lake, enjoying games, connection, and hot chips by the water.

Well done, Year 10! You've finished the year and we are proud of you!
