In-School Camp Experience fun!
Last week, our Junior Primary students enjoyed a very special three-day experience that took them away from formal learning and immersed them in activities designed to build community, teamwork, and confidence. These days mirror the kinds of experiences they will enjoy when they transition to Middle Primary and attend an overnight camp in the future.
Wednesday
We began by splitting into Year 1 and Year 2 groups for a day of exciting activities. The highlight was a Lego incursion with Ryan from Lego Masters, where students worked collaboratively to create amazing designs and learn problem-solving skills. Students also participated in transition activities to help prepare them for the next stage of their learning journey.
Thursday
Our adventure continued with an excursion on Puffing Billy to Emerald Lake. Students explored the history of this iconic railway and learned about forces in the Education Centre. It was a day full of discovery and fun! Later that evening, our Year 2 students stayed back at school for a special extended experience. They played games, shared a delicious community dinner (just like they would on camp) and finished the night with a movie. It was a wonderful way to strengthen friendships and build independence.
Friday
We wrapped up our camp experience by exploring the beautiful bushlands behind our school, engaging in outdoor play and nature-based activities. Students also created model trains to reflect on their Puffing Billy adventure and spent time sharing their favourite moments from the week.
This in-school camp was a fantastic opportunity for our Junior Primary students to grow socially and emotionally while having loads of fun. We are so proud of the way they embraced every activity with enthusiasm and teamwork. These experiences help lay the foundation for the exciting adventures that await them in Middle Primary.
