What’s Happening in Science?

Term 4 is well underway, and there’s plenty happening across the Science department!

Our Year 12 students are in the final stages of preparation for their exams. Each has been provided with practice exams and will receive detailed formative feedback to support them in achieving the best possible results.

Year 11 Chemistry students recently attended a VCE Masterclass at KIOSC, where they analysed environmental water samples to identify potential contaminants. 

Using advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation, students were able to detect and quantify a range of compounds. 

This was an authentic experience that deepened their understanding of applied chemistry.

We also celebrated the graduation of several Year 10 students who completed the Work Experience Done Differently program with CIMET (Careers in Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology). 

Working in partnership with Coca-Cola at their Moorabbin manufacturing facility, students tackled real-world industry challenges and gained invaluable hands-on experience.

A big thank you to KIOSC for hosting the graduation ceremony. We’re incredibly proud of the achievements and dedication our students have demonstrated throughout this unique opportunity.
