Principal's message

Dear Jesus,
Bless all in our school as we come to the end of term.
We give thanks for the students, parents, teachers, and staff who have contributed to this term of nurturing and growth.
We are grateful for the positive moments: the excitement of learning, accomplishment, creativity, laughter, and sense of community.
We recognize the times of struggle, difficult work and misunderstanding.
As we leave for the break, may we rest and be rejuvenated, ready for another term of learning and growing in your love.
We ask you to watch over us and keep us safe over the holidays,
Amen
Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Mass
Last Fridays mass to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart was a truly joyous celebration.
The musicians played on their guitars, recorders, piano and drums whilst the singers led a heavenly chorus in which the whole student body joined in and sang, Oh Sacred Heart, the love of Jesus......
In the lead up to the Feast Day, our children for the whole year, had been saving their juice boxes from their lunch orders. Mrs. Bevan regularly took these containers down to the recycle centre and the money received from our recycling was saved for the St. Vinnies Winter Appeal.
The Social Justice Team organised the Splash of Red colour day to launch our efforts for the Feast of The Sacred Heart and Winter Appeal for St. Vinnies.
Money from this awareness raising day was collected by each class who then purchased a blanket on behalf of their class.
The Student Leaders organised a weeklong second-hand uniform sale before school and at home time. Families sent in uniforms that were no longer needed and then purchased second-hand ones. This money was then used to purchase more blankets for St. Vinnies.
The offertory procession in our mass was truly grand, the Confirmation children processed in with the offertory gifts, followed by gifts of blankets by every class, by the Social Justice Leaders and by Student Leaders, in excess of 50 blankets were presented.
The participation of all present with the responses to the mass and the continued joyful singing was uplifting. Celebrating the Feast of the Sacred Heart continued with the P&F organising a Hot Dog Day lunch.
We thank the Tripodi family from Wangaratta Mazda for organising a vehicle to help transport the blankets to St. Vinnies. Our response to support those in Wangaratta who are feeling the cold this winter was truly inspiring and the children lived out their call to Love like Jesus did......
Eucharist
Early next term I will work with the Sacramental children as they prepare to receive their First Communion. The date for this celebration still to be confirmed and will be communicated to the families as soon as it is.
Sickness
We have a lot of children off with either Influenza A or Influenza B.
If your child is unwell, please keep them home to help limit the spread the flu.
Hopefully the two-week break will act as a circuit breaker and next term both children and staff will return fitter and stronger.
School Holidays
School finishes this Friday for the holidays at 2.20pm and returns for the beginning of term 3 on Monday 21st July.
We thank everyone in our school community for their support during a very successful and calm first semester.
We wish everyone a good break over the school holidays and look forward to continued learning next semester.
