Foundation News

What an amazing term it has been in Foundation! We are so proud of everyone’s growth and independence in all learning areas this term.
In English, students have learnt their final sounds for the term ‘w’ and ‘ck’.
Our tricky word list is expanding, and students are doing a fantastic job of recognising and using these words in their reading and writing.
Everyone is excited to swap their readers each Monday and share their growing reading skills with each other.
During the holidays we encourage everyone to continue to practise their reading and tricky words in their readers, as well as the ones at the back of their home reading diaries.
In Maths we are finishing off the term by looking at how we can partition whole numbers into 2 or 3 parts.
Students are great at identifying the small parts of numbers and adding them together to make a whole. They have enjoyed exploring number concept this term using dice, counters and dominos.
In Religion we are focusing on The Feast of The Sacred Heart, learning about love and compassion. It was wonderful to see everyone showing love by donating money to purchase a blanket to donate to St. Vincent de Paul appeal.
We look forward to celebrating the last day of term with our Grade 6 Buddies.
Our buddies will be joining us for a special morning of learning and fun.
Congratulations to all the award winners this term and to our Bernie trophy winners.
We wish you all a happy and restful winters break.
