Grade 5 News

We’ve had a fantastic Term 2, filled with learning, growth, and enthusiasm.
It has been wonderful to see all students working hard and embracing every opportunity to learn.
In Literacy, we’ve begun exploring poetry through our mentor text, I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth.
Students are now using the rich, descriptive language from the poem to inspire their own nature-themed poetry.
In Mathematics, we’ve wrapped up our unit on time.
Students learned to convert between 12-hour and 24-hour formats and applied their knowledge by creating detailed schedules and timetables using 24-hour time.
This week, students are consolidating all the mathematical concepts we’ve covered throughout the term, strengthening their understanding through revision and problem-solving activities.
Our Winter Sports Carnival has been rescheduled to Week 2 of Term 3.
A new permission form will be sent home via PAM. Please keep an eye out for it.
A big congratulations to our Bernie Trophy winners 5 Bell and 5 Dellicastelli, who tied! Well done to both classes for consistently demonstrating our school values both in and out of the classroom.
We wish all families a safe, restful, and enjoyable break.
We look forward to another exciting term ahead, full of learning and fun!
