Grade 4 News

What a fantastic term it has been in Year 4!

Our students have shown impressive growth across all areas of learning and should be incredibly proud of their achievements.

This term, we finished reading The Arrival by Shaun Tan—a thoroughly enjoyable, wordless novel that sparked rich discussion and deep thinking.

Students explored the power of visual storytelling and used the detailed illustrations to build vocabulary and expand their sentence writing.

In Mathematics, we explored new strategies and deepened our understanding of the relationship between addition and subtraction. Students investigated how knowing one operation can help solve the other, using number facts, fact families, and inverse operations.

Students took part in a rich First Nations incursion, where they explored Aboriginal culture through hands-on experiences including traditional rock painting, dance and boomerang throwing.

We wish all our students and families a happy, safe and well-earned break over the holidays, and look forward to another exciting term of learning ahead
