Term 3 - Week 7

Dear Families,

There has been plenty happening at St John’s over the past fortnight and plenty still to come as we move into the last three weeks of Term 3. It is also that time of year again when the days are getting a little longer, the weather is beginning to warm up and UV levels are increasing, so our school hats are now to be worn and the return of our "No Hat, No Play" expectations will be in place from next week.

Book Week 

What a fantastic Book Week we had at St John’s last week! It was great to see so much excitement around books and reading throughout the week, from our visits to the Euroa Library through to Friday morning’s Book Week Parade and classroom activities. Thank you to all of our families who came along and joined us on Friday and for the effort that went into some brilliant costumes. A special thank you to Mrs Fiona Robinson for coordinating the week and to our wonderful staff for making it such an enjoyable celebration for our students.

Welcome Jalen

This week we are very pleased to welcome Jalen Dowell to St John’s as a new member of our Year 5 class. We hope he settles in quickly, enjoys becoming part of our school community and has a fantastic remainder of Year 5 with us. Please make Jalen and his family feel very welcome when you see them around St John’s.

Athletics Day

Our St John’s Athletics Day is still going ahead and will be held tomorrow - Wednesday 26th August. 🔆A sunny day is predicted for tomorrow, however the oval may still be wet and muddy in some areas so please make sure that students bring along a spare pair of socks or shoes. Our Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students will join the Athletics Day from approximately 11:40am and families are very welcome to come along throughout the day and support our students. Students may wear either their full sports uniform or a t-shirt in their House colour with their sports uniform. These are the only two uniform options for the day. A big thank you to Mr Linc McKernan for the work that has gone into preparing the day and to all staff, students and families for a great day ahead. Please see the schedule for the day tomorrow...

Family Mass this Weekend!

Come along and join us for our St John’s Family Mass this Saturday 29th August at 6pm. Our Family Masses are an important opportunity for our school, families and parish to gather together and celebrate our faith. We would love to see plenty of St John’s families joining us on Saturday evening.

Father’s Day at St John’s

Father’s Day is coming up next week and we are looking forward to welcoming father figures and other special people to our Father’s Day Breakfast on Thursday 3rd September from 7am. Everyone is welcome! There is no cost to attend and we hope plenty of families can join us for what is always a great morning at St John’s. Our Parents Group will also run the Father’s Day Stall on Friday 4th September from 9am-11am in the Mercy Centre. Gifts will be available for $10, so please send $10 along with your child if they would like to purchase a gift.

A kind reminder that staff supervision begins each morning at 8:30am, so we ask families (wherever possible) to please avoid dropping students at school before this time and to plan for arrival from 8:30am onwards. Our final day of Term 3 will be an early finish at 2:30pm, as we wrap up another busy and rewarding term together. Assembly this week is led by our Year 5 students and will begin at 2:40pm, we hope to see you at one of our key school events over the next few weeks,
