Book Week brought plenty of fun to our classrooms, with staff diving into their favourite stories. A highlight was Ms Madeley arriving as Brian Robeson from Hatchet, complete with survival gear and a determined look! Her outfit had everyone smiling and made our class novel feel like it had stepped right off the page.
8B had the chance to step into the world of animation with a special workshop run by Gippsland Tech who are back on site. Students explored digital tools, experimented with movement and design, and discovered how imagination can come to life on screen. The session was hands-on, engaging, and gave everyone a taste of the creative possibilities in the tech world.
Our classrooms have been buzzing with focus and creativity. In Maths, students worked through challenges and explored problem-solving strategies, while others enjoyed listening to their class novel, getting lost in the story together.
Students dived into the world of digital design, learning Photoshop skills to edit images and experiment with effects.
8E explored the power of nature in their Humanities lessons by creating their own volcanoes. Students built models, investigated eruptions, and discovered how landscapes are shaped.
We’re pleased to see that most of our students continue to wear the correct school uniform with pride. We kindly ask all families to ensure that students are in full school uniform each day. If you need any support in sourcing uniform items, please don’t hesitate to contact Amy in the Year 8 Hub—she’s always happy to help.
Students who arrive at school out of uniform will be provided with the appropriate items and expected to wear them during the school day.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
For your reference, the uniform policy and price list are included below as well as examples of correct uniform.
In accordance with the Department of Education Mobile Phones Policy, students must not use their mobile phones at Bairnsdale Secondary College during school hours, including Break 1 and 2, unless an exemption has been granted by the Principal.
Students may need to bring a personal mobile phone to school, for example if travelling independently to and from school. If students bring a mobile phone to school they must be switched off and stored securely in their locker all day, including Break 1 and 2. Mobile phones are considered valuable items and are brought to the school at the owner’s risk.
For further information the BSC Mobile Phones Policy is located on the College website.
