Behaviour Management Framework – Working Together to Support Positive Learning
At Frankston High School, we are committed to working in partnership with families to support every student to thrive.
Learning and behaviour are skills that students develop over time. At Frankston High School, we use a consistent, predictable and supportive approach when students are not meeting expectations.
Our Behaviour Management Framework is: Remind, Refocus, Reset, Restore and Reflect. The purpose of this is to support students to understand expectations, regulate, make better choices, repair relationships and engage in purposeful learning. Our aim is to prepare them for success at school and beyond.
On Call Roster (OCR)
As part of our Behaviour Management Framework, when a student is repeatedly displaying minor or significant unhelpful learning behaviours, they may have a check-in or removal from class via our On Call Roster (OCR). OCR is a system where a member of staff will support the student to reflect, regulate and reset so they can return to learning successfully.
- If your child has been removed from class via OCR, you will receive a text message advising you to check your email for further information from the relevant classroom teacher. The email will provide details about the behaviour that led to the removal, the strategies used by the teacher, and contact details should you wish to discuss this further.
- If your child has had an OCR check-in, you will receive an email only from the relevant classroom teacher. A check-in provides an opportunity for your child to reset and re-engage with their learning and is not a consequence or detention.
Our shared expectations are straightforward: students should arrive on time, be prepared with learning material, a charged laptop, drink bottle and full school uniform, follow learning routines, engage positively and take responsibility for their choices. Our aim is to challenge and support our students to be the best they can be by availing themselves of the opportunities provided to them.
