Year 7 News
Vermont Secondary College
A warm welcome to all Year 7 students, staff, and parents of Vermont Secondary College! We are excited to have commenced 2026 academic year with such enthusiasm and positivity.
Our students have quickly settled into their learning environment, demonstrating strong organisational and communication skills. Well done, Year 7! Many students have already signed up for team sports—and joining various lunchtime clubs.
HOTHAM HOUSE: Monday, February 23rd – Wednesday, February 25th
STIRLING and MACEDON HOUSES: Wednesday, February 25th – Friday, February 27th
The Year 7 Orientation Camp is an exciting and important part of the school's Transition Program. Taking place at a beautiful camp site near Marysville, the camp offers students a chance to develop meaningful relationships with their peers, teachers, and student managers. This experience helps them settle into secondary school life with ease. Over the three days, students will enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as the vertical challenge, cycling, swimming, bush walks, and indoor games. The camp will focus on team-building and fostering connections, and all activities will be led by qualified camp staff alongside our dedicated college teachers.
Further details, including what to bring, behavioural expectations, and group roster allocations, will be shared soon. We look forward to spending this time with the students and getting to know them better.
At Vermont Secondary College, we are committed to supporting our students’ academic and personal growth. We value the strong partnerships we build with parents and guardians to help our students reach their full potential. We encourage students and families to familiarise themselves with school processes and expectations through the Vermont Secondary Website, and to reach out to their Student Managers with any questions or concerns.

We are excited to support our Year 7 students in what promises to be a rewarding and productive year!
