Welcome back to school Year 9s of 2026!
Hopefully you’ve all had a safe and restful break and are as excited as we are to get going with the new semester. As year 9s, I’m sure you’re all comfortable and confident with how everything works but if there are any issues, we’d love to see you in the year 9 office (opposite S12 in C block).
A couple of other reminders to keep in mind:
- Headphones: we don’t want to see anyone wearing headphones or Airpods as they are in the yard or walking the corridors. Feel free to bring them to class if your teacher lets you use them. We want to make sure we can all hear each other for safety reasons but also be open and respectful with the community. If you need a pass or have any questions, please come and speak to your Student Manager.
- Advance Placement Subjects: Year 9 is when we accept and announce those who will be accelerating a VCE subject for commence in year 10. We’re still a long way off here but please bear in mind that your habits and performance even now can have an impact on these decisions. If you are planning on applying for an Advance Placement, now is the time to start those good habits so your teachers and Student Managers can see not just how smart you are but how diligent and organised you are as well. Keep an eye out for further information on this program in the next few months.
- Uniform: Just a gentle reminder to make sure you’re wearing the correct shoes and uniform. Overall, this cohort does a great job with uniform, but we don’t want to let this slip. If there are any questions about uniform, particularly with any changes made to the policy, please come and speak with your student manager.
We’ve got a great year ahead of us and I thank you all for your hard work and support in keeping this the best cohort at Vermont Secondary College!
