ATTENTION YEAR 9 & 10 STUDENTS

Lotus Creative Arts Prize

A fully funded two-week scholarship program in China, taking place in September 2026. 

 

This program provides students with the opportunity to develop their creative arts skills while exploring China’s rich history and culture. Participants will also connect with local institutions and communities through activities in dance, visual arts, drama, music and media.

 

Eligibility

To apply, students must:

  • Be a full-time Year 9 or Year 10 student studying an arts subject (dance, visual arts, drama, media arts or music) either at school or as an extra-curricular activity. A written endorsement from an extra-curricular teacher may be required during the shortlisting process.
  • Have an interest in Chinese language and culture.
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen residing in Australia.

 

Application Process

The application process has two parts:

  • Part 1: Complete the online application form and upload the required documents.
  • Part 2: Record and submit a short video responding to the key questions outlined in the application materials.

 

Important Dates

  • Applications open: Monday 19 January 2026
  • Information session: 5pm Wednesday 18 March 2026—register your interest External link
  • Applications close: 5:00 pm Friday 15 May 2026
  • Interviews and selection: May–June 2026
  • Award ceremony: September 2026 (date to be advised)
  • Travel dates: September 2026 (dates to be advised)
