Elite Volleyball Program

Queensland Beach Schools Cup

State Championship Success

The Elite Volleyball Program delivered an outstanding performance at the Queensland Beach Schools Cup in Coolangatta, with 20 of our 54 teams progressing to finals and securing 14 medals across multiple divisions. These results allowed us to place 2nd overall in Queensland out of 67 teams who participated.

Medal Highlights:

Year 8 Boys (4s) claimed gold, while our Year 9 Boys dominated the pairs division with gold and two silver medals. Year 10 athletes were particularly impressive, with gold in Girls 4s and Boys Pairs, alongside silver and bronze in Girls Pairs and bronze in Boys 4s. Our senior students continued the success with Year 11 Girls Pairs bronze, and Year 12 Boys securing bronze in 4s plus silver medals in both Division 1 and 2 for Pairs.

Beyond the competitive results, our students demonstrated exceptional character throughout the weekend by volunteering for event duties, supporting teammates, and stepping up to coach and mentor junior teams. The number of finalists and medal winners highlights both our continued growth and increasing competitiveness at the state level.

Student Leadership in Action

We are excited to watch our senior students embrace leadership opportunities in the coming weeks. Our Year 10s are having their first experience leading training sessions and will soon visit local primary schools to teach volleyball to young students. Meanwhile, our Year 11 and 12 athletes are exploring event management by hosting competitions that bring different year levels together, providing valuable development in culture building and cross-cohort engagement. These leadership experiences are essential to developing well-rounded sports professionals and strengthening the legacy within our program.

Thank you!
