Year 11 Study Skills - Using AI to Study Effectively

For our Year 11 students, the Study Skills Program continues to progress well. Students are expected to attend 50-minute workshops in the Library each fortnight, developing practical strategies to support their learning. If students are absent, all work in the Google Classroom must be completed by the end of each Term to be eligible to pass the course.

The most recent Study Skills session focused on how to use AI effectively and responsibly as a study tool. This included discussions around ethical use, evaluating information, and understanding the Wyndham College policy. It has been encouraging to see students engaging thoughtfully with these emerging tools while building skills that will support their senior studies.

We surveyed Year 11 about their concerns around use of AI and the future, with the findings showing that the majority of our students are worried about the impacts of this technology, so we will continue to educate students about how to navigate this technology as it emerges. See some of the sample responses to our survey.
