School Saving Bonus

Don’t forget to log in to the School Saving Bonus (SSB) portal and allocate your $400 bonus if you’d like to use it for school activities or uniforms.

 

You can use the bonus for uniforms and school activities anytime up to Monday 30 June 2025.

 

Any unused funds (including online vouchers) will turn into a credit for school activities after 30 June, but this credit won’t show up in your family account until late July.

If you’d like to use the bonus for activities happening in July, please allocate your funds before 30 June 2025.

How to allocate your bonus

If you would like to use some or all of your $400 School Saving Bonus for school-related activities (including excursions or camps), please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the School Saving Bonus portal using the code emailed to you by the Department of Education.
  2. Allocate funds to “Activities.”

At this stage, you are not selecting a specific activity but rather setting aside an amount to be available for use at the school. We cannot apply your bonus to any school activities unless you have first allocated the funds in the SSB Portal.

Using SSB for events in Compass

After you've allocated your bonus, please allow a few days for the changes to reflect in your Compass balance on a particular event. If your balance has not been updated, please email us at port.melbourne.ps@education.vic.gov.au. Please be aware that fund allocation is not an automated process, so we apologies for any delays.
