Meet our Year 2 teachers

Miss Caitlin

(Year 2A Teacher and Team Leader)

I have worn many different hats over my time at Port, starting off with a French beret when I came to the school to start up the French program. From there I have taught junior school and senior school and even a bit of STEM along the way.

My real passion in Education is Wellbeing and Inclusion and ensuring that all students have what they need to learn and feel safe and happy to come to school. This is why I have undertaken and am now in the last year (thank goodness!) of my Masters of Inclusive Education which has been a great adventure.

When I am not at work I am chasing around my two children Anouk (8) and Hugo (5). I love getting out with them to museums, movies, parks, the beach and anything that keeps them busy and keeps my house tidy. I also love to bake at home, and eat out with friends and family.

I grew up in South Africa, moved to England where I met my husband Dan. Together with our daughter Cass, we moved to Australia in 2014. I love a good hike in the mountains and a long walk with Styx, my whippet. I have worked at PMPS for 10 years and I'm super excited to have this cohort again!

My favourite trip was when I went to Borneo Island to see the orangutans. My hobbies are scuba diving, yoga, meditation and Latin dancing. I am also trying to learn how to surf (it is not going very well!)

Miss Sarah

(Year 2D Teacher and Sustainability Leader)

Hello wonderful community! My journey at PMPS began in 2012, and since then I’ve had the pleasure of teaching across most year levels, including STEM. This year, I’m really enjoying getting to know my fabulous 2CD students, and I also have the privilege of leading our school’s sustainability initiatives. It’s been exciting to work alongside students and families as we take our environmental commitment to the next level, especially with plans to improve how we manage waste.

Outside of school, I’m happiest outdoors - whether in the garden, exploring nature, enjoying delicious food, or chasing a new adventure. My extended family are mostly on the Mornington Peninsula and I look for any excuse to head down to be with them. My greatest pride and joy are my two daughters, an energetic three-year-old and a curious Year 1 student, who keep life fun and full of surprises!

  • What I'm reading right now: Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty
  • Favourite sport: Basketball
  • My favourite subject (when I was at school): Maths and Art
  • How long I've taught at PMPS: 13 years!

Miss Susannah

(Year 2D Teacher)

I'm having a great time teaching in 2CD this year and getting to know our Year 2 students and their families. We've had a fantastic start!

Outside of school, I love nothing more than getting away for the weekend, whether it's visiting my parents' farm or heading down the coast. With three kids aged 7, 5, and 3, those getaways are a bit trickier these days, but we still make the most of it!

I enjoy cooking something delicious, spending time with friends, reading, and watching a good series. I like to keep active and always look forward to AFL season so I can cheer on Melbourne as much as possible.

  • Favourite sport: Netball
  • My favourite subject (when I was at school): Psychology
