Live for Lily Fundraiser

On 17 August, Macleod College had the honour of hosting the Live4Lily Fundraising Foundation for the second consecutive year. Live4Lily is a volunteer-run charity dedicated to supporting childhood cancer research, with money raised through fundraising events going directly towards helping researchers find better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for childhood cancer.

With the support of our Events Team, the Student Leadership Team was able to run a successful sausage sizzle, drinks and baked goods stall throughout the day. There was plenty of excitement around the school, particularly when students had the opportunity to make a donation to dunk their chosen teacher with water! This quickly became one of the highlights of the day, with students and staff getting involved and having plenty of fun.

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our school community, we raised an incredible $1,383.50 for Live4Lily - an outstanding result and a new record for our fundraising efforts, surpassing last year's total.

We would like to give a special thank you to The Student Leadership Team, Mrs Spinks and Ms Tran for their ongoing dedication and determination to run this event each year. Their efforts help create a fun and memorable day for our students, while also raising awareness and much-needed funds for childhood cancer research.

A huge thank you also goes to everyone who donated, purchased food and drinks, baked goods, or took part in the teacher dunking. We even had some students who decided to take-part on the spot! Every contribution helped make the day a success.

We are incredibly proud of what our school community achieved and can't wait to continue supporting Live4Lily in the years to come!
