Students from Year 7 to 11 applied to be part of the 2024 ‘Nailed it’ cooking competition. Twenty students (10 pairs) were selected from the 80 who applied. Selection was based on the answers provided in the application form. The competition involved students being given the same three photos of decorated cupcakes, then in pairs attempting to replicate all three under strict time constraints.

Students received two 'HELP' cards per pair. These provided two minutes of advice/help per card. Other than this, students used their own initiative and creativity to get the cakes decorated. Students had 90 minutes to bake, decorate and to reveal their creations to the judges and other contestants. The winning students both received a small prize and certificate.

A big thank you to Rachael Schembri and Caroline Gill for facing the difficult decision of choosing the winner and place getters of ‘Nailed It 2024’.

  • Congratulations to Charlotte and Tully of year 10 who won ‘Nailed it 2024'. Charli also received 1st place in 2022, back in Year 8!
  • Second place was awarded to Caitlyn (1st place in 2023) and Bailey, Year 9.
  • Third place went to Mahala and Mathilda, the only Year 7 students participating.

Overall, the students produced amazing results and had a lot of fun. Well done to everyone who participated!
