OUTDOOR ED 

Year 9 - Mount Baw Baw 

Students were given the ability to participate in a range of outdoor experiences and environments. In particular, students attending the camp will attain a better grasp on the theoretical components of Outdoor Education. The focus for the term was on alpine environments. Thus, by visiting an alpine region such as Mount Baw Baw, students will enhance their knowledge of the Victorian Alps on the following topics:

  • Weather and Climate.
  • Flora and Fauna.
  • Human Influences and Threats.
  • How snow is formed/made.

Students will also gain experience in the practical knowledge of:

  • Snowboarding.
  • Skiing.
  • Teamwork.
  • Communication.

By learning in, through and about the outdoors, students will gain lifelong knowledge and skills that they will be able to take with them at the completion of their schooling career.
