VCE MOUNT BULLER CAMP
VCE OES Unit ½ Mount Buller Camp
On the 28th of August, 14 eager students accompanied by Mr. Patton, Mr. Prior and Heidi made a 5:30am departure on route to Mount Buller. After a quick pitstop for breakfast and another to collect our ski and snowboard gear, we finally made it to the mountain. A disappointing snow season meant we were left with only 1 run to work with but it proved to be plentiful in ways it could be used. After a solid first day, we headed to the accommodation and soaked up the buffet dinner and games room.
An early night to bed meant we were up on the mountain early for day 2. The progression in skills of the group was awesome and such a credit to themselves for sticking to a skill that is tough to learn in the beginning. After a group photo at the top of the lift, the 8 hours on the slopes proved plenty as the at the end of the day the group were tired but in good spirits reflecting on a successful introduction to the snow. A big thank you to the staff involved and the students for their excellent attitudes and behaviour.
