Magical Book Week
Huge thank you to staff Ms Katie Montinaro, Mr Sean Hogarth and Mr Shane Brown who presented lunchtime activities during our Book Week here in the Library.
Students were fascinated to hear about the process of writing and publishing your own novels, learnt a couple of magic tricks to try at home, and created some of their own poetry to share with others.
Joel McKerrow Workshops
Year 8 Language and Literature students attended short poetry workshops with acclaimed 'performance poet', author and presenter, Joel McKerrow. This prepared them for their upcoming unit of work. Joel also provided them with many tips on where to find their inspiration and creativity, as well as the 'process' that would suit them best in developing their own 'slam poems'. They were very entertaining workshops, as he also 'performed' some of his own poetry.
