The last two days of Term 2 finished with our annual Inter-House Athletics Carnival and the busy sporting schedule continues this term. Attendance at this year's carnival was again excellent and this made for great competition with close to 6000 points being accrued across the two houses. This year, Somerset House won the Junior trophy and Coleman House won the Senior trophy. The overall winning house for the day was Coleman House.
Congratulations to all competitors, in particular our age champions for their efforts over the two days.
The age Champion for the Carnival were as follows:
Over the two days, and the pre-events, three records were broken! The U12 Boys Discus record was broken by Brax (29.89m), and he also broke the U12 Shot Put record (11.50m). Haden broke the U15 Boys 3000m record with a run of 11:37.00 mins.
U13 – U19 students that have made qualifying times or distances will be going on to attend the Darling Downs Athletics Carnival on the 21st and 22nd of August (Week 6 of this Term). The U12 competitors represented the High School at the Brisbane Valley Schools Cluster Carnival yesterday against the other Primary schools in the area to qualify for the Lockyer Zone District Carnival. This team will be finalised today, and notes will be sent out with the details of the next level Carnival.

Finally, the 2nd round of the Somerset cup will be held on Tuesday the 19th August at Toogoolawah SHS. Once again, Kilcoy and Lowood will come across and will this time compete in the sports of Netball and Touch.
