Head of Year 9 & 10 News

Mrs Jacinta Kruger

Our recent Year 11 camp to Emu Gully was an unforgettable experience. It was filled with mud, laughter, resilience and growth.

Over three action-packed days, students pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones through activities like mud pits, paintball battles, obstacle courses and team challenges designed to test both physical grit and mental toughness.

What was most powerful, however, was witnessing a group of young people who initially described themselves as “divided” begin to come together as a united team. Through shared struggle, muddy victories and moments of honest reflection, they supported one another and developed the kind of collaboration and communication skills that will be invaluable over the next 18 months, and far beyond. It was a joy to watch their growth, and we are incredibly proud of the spirit they showed.

Meanwhile, our Year 12 students are entering their final full term of high school. A huge milestone! With just 11 weeks until the start of external exams, it’s natural that motivation begins to dip. They can see the finish line, but it still feels far away. Now more than ever, we want to remind them (and each other!) that every effort counts. This final stretch is their chance to cement the legacy of a cohort that has shown so much potential. Let’s continue working together to keep them focused, encouraged and proud of how far they’ve come.
