Year 7 Humanities

Mrs O'Farrell

This week, our Year 7 humanities students became archaeologists, with cookies! In a hands-on activity, they carefully “excavated” chocolate chips from cookies to learn how real archaeological digs work.

The goal? To show just how slow and careful archaeologists need to be to preserve the artefacts they uncover. Once something is dug up, it can’t go back. So recording everything in detail is also key. Students quickly learned that rushing leads to crumbled cookies… and lost history!

It was a fun (and delicious) way to understand how we uncover the past.
