It feels like this Term has flown by in the Art Room with so many wonderful projects going on!

To wrap up the term students have been finishing posters to submit to the Western Water poster competition. It has been wonderful to see so much care and effort put into these pieces with many different takes on the theme of the year “Water Heroes: Make Every Drop Count”. Students have used their understanding of colour to create impactful posters inspiring us to use our water wisely.  

5/6T has come to the end of an extensive project inspired by Banksy, where they created stencils to then spray paint. The class created painted, printed or water-coloured backgrounds to spray their stencil onto. We were lucky enough to have Nic Burridge (artist) join us for the spray-painting lesson, giving us us extra tips and tricks. The results are incredible, and students are excited to put the final touches on in Week 10. 

Looking ahead we will be shifting our focus to ‘Farm Art’ for the Lancefield Show. Students will approach the project from several different angles, learning about perspective, colour and contrast. 

It is hard to believe we are nearing the final term of the year, what a fun time we have had in the Art Room so far!
