Year 5/6 

Term 3 has certainly been a busy one in Year 5/6T, but it has also been filled with plenty of fun, laughter and memorable moments.

With our camp just around the corner, students have been busy preparing for next week. We have held a couple of camp meetings where students have had the opportunity to ask questions, share their cabin preferences and get a better understanding of what camp will involve. There is certainly plenty of excitement building as we get closer to departure!

Our class novel, Music for Tigers, has been a real hit in the classroom. Students have become highly invested in the story and the whole-class discussions following each chapter have quickly become a highlight of each day. There have been plenty of interesting predictions, questions and conversations as we continue to explore the story together.

Another highlight of the term was our Book Week dress-up day. The idea for a whole-class costume was suggested by the students and certainly did not disappoint! Our Gru and Minions theme was a huge success and was definitely one of the highlights of the year. It was fantastic to see the whole class get behind the idea and have so much fun together.

Our year 6 students have been visiting the Men’s Shed to work on our ‘Little Lancefield’ project as well as the yearly right of passage that is the building on their bird boxes and this year’s addition of an iPad/book stand.

It has been a very busy Term 3 and we have certainly made the most of it. We are looking forward to finishing the term on a high at camp next week before enjoying a well-deserved break and returning for Term 4 with our usual enthusiasm and energy.
