“Next Monday is the beginning of December!” were the words Mr. Catalano said to me. I couldn’t believe my ears. Eleven months have already flown by and now there is only a handful of weeks until the end of the year. What a year it has been so far. So much growth across the school, so many positives to take away from this year. The countless excursions, millions of opportunities, making new friends and of course creating memories.

This Monday, the Year 3’s went to Camp Toolangi, I am sure they had so much fun, doing all of the amazing activities the camp has to offer. It was a day full of excitement and joy. I am sure the Grade 3’s are now ready for their first camp in Year 4!

Currently, all the Grade 5’s are taking part to try and get into the 2026 Leadership team. So many people are so excited and determined to achieve their goal and I’m sure this year’s candidates are all awesome. Congratulations to everyone who have progressed through the application stage and even if you didn’t, you have still shown great courage to apply and give a formal application to a teacher, writing these are so hard, but it is a life skill you can use forever.

As we are coming to the end of the year, we have started to peek over to next year. The 2026 Day and the Year 7 Orientation Day aren’t too far away, actually they are being held on the 9th of December. You are going to find out your new classroom, your teacher and all the people in your class. For Year 6’s this year, going to high school will be a big change, but we have to make sure to stay positive and to always remember to never forget Glen Waverley Primary School.

Thank you for taking your time to read this week’s newsletter and make sure to put on sunscreen daily and to drink lots of water as it is very hot almost every day. Also remember to bring your hat and wear it outside.

Thank you from Shiv your 2025 School Captain.
